After ten months of anticipation, Jones Technical Institute (J-Tech) has received the final approval the Institute has been waiting for that will allow students to enroll and classes to begin. On Thursday July 17th, the U.S. Department of Education granted J-Tech the eligibility to participate in Title IV, Federal Financial Aid. With this approval, qualified Automotive Technology and Diesel Technology students will have the opportunity to take advantage of Federal Financial Aid to assist in paying for their training.  View press release

Jacksonville’s Car Enthusiast are joining together at J-Tech to kick off the First Coast Car Council Poker Run Rally on June 28th. First Coast Car Council, the only organization of their kind in the area, has been the car club for car clubs since 1986.  View press release

The transportation and logistics industry will be coming together May 17th for a free family friendly event. The Transportation Club of Jacksonville will be hosting their annual Trade Show and Truck Rodeo at Jacksonville’s newest vocational school J-Tech, located in Southside Jacksonville. J-Tech’s campus offers a 170,000 sq. ft. backing range for the Truck Rodeo course. This unique event is open to the public and will last 9am-4pm.  View press release

NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) Funny Car Driver Ron Capps will be making a pit stop at J-Tech on March 13th on his way to the Gatornationals in Gainesville. J-Tech will be holding a meet and greet from 12:30 pm-3:00 pm. Ron Capps will be available for autographs and photo opportunities. This event will be open to the public.  View press release

Jones Technical Institute (J-Tech) received its Branch Campus Accreditation from the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. In addition, J-Tech received its approval to offer Occupational Associate Degrees in Automotive and Diesel Technology.  J-Tech is now a fully accredited vocational institution! View press release

Compass Rose Foundation’s Integrated Educational System now encompasses three campuses. On October 15, 2013, the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) granted approval for Jones Technical Institute’s Branch Application, Part I. Furthermore, J-Tech expects to receive it’s full Grant of Accreditation in mid-February. On November 21, 2013, Florida’s Commission for Independent Education (CIE) voted unanimously to grant provisional licensure, with no conditions, for Jones Technical Institute (J-Tech). View press release

J-Tech concluded the last of three inaugural Program Advisory Committee meetings for the Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, and Commercial Truck Driving programs. Employers and community partners came together to provide J-Tech feedback on industry needs and expectations of a new vocational school in the Jacksonville area.

Upon completion of the Program Advisory Committee meetings, J-Tech submitted part two of their branch application for accreditation to the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges and its Application for Provisional License with the Commission for Independent Education, Florida Department of Education. View press release

Compass Rose Foundation Inc. purchased 8813 Western Way, a 16-acre, 168,000 square foot building on the Southside of Jacksonville. This locale was formerly used by Mercedes-Benz as their national training facility and vehicle intake plant. It is our intent to also make our facilities available to employers and industry partners for regional training workshops. View press release
