Diesel engines are bigger, more powerful, more efficient and more reliable than gas powered when it comes to large vehicles and machinery that is used in the field. Whether it is a Kenworth semitrucks, Trekker tractors, or anything in between; when it comes to the large jobs – Diesel Technology will always prevail. Our instructors are industry professionals that will teach you the ins and outs of the Diesel engine and other critical components such as Hydraulics, Fabrication, Equipment Operation, Inspection/Diagnostic Techniques, Engine, Drivetrain, and much more.

Our goal is to provide you the training and skills you need to hit the ground running. We help you be successful in this industry. J-Tech’s Diesel Technology program is your opportunity to get on the fast-track to a career in the diesel industry, with an Occupational Associates Degree awarded upon graduation.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics:

  • The state of Florida is the 5th state with the highest level of employment for Diesel Technicians.
  • The BLS also says that in Florida the hourly mean wage for Diesel Technicians is more than $22 per hour.

Interview with
Admissions

Have a personal interview with an Admissions Representative. This is your chance to get all of your questions answered about the program you’re interested in.

PROGRAM Highlights

As a student in the Diesel Technology Program, you’ll be trained in the diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and their various systems including diesel engines, suspension and steering, drive train components that include transmissions and axles, brakes, preventive maintenance inspection, electrical/electronic systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

As a student in the Automotive Technology Program, you’ll be learning basic automotive maintenance, diagnostic procedures and effective repair methods, using testing equipment and specialized tools. The program also includes training on electrical, HVAC, engine performance, suspension, steering, brake systems, and transmission diagnosis and repair.
