J-Tech is one of only three training centers in the U.S. authorized to offer this elite program and acceptance into the program can open the door to even more opportunities!

What is the DATE program at J-Tech?
The Diesel Advanced Technology Education Program (D.A.T.E.) is advanced training offered at J-Tech for graduates of Automotive or Diesel Technology who meet GPA, attendance, and admission requirements. It gives deeper, advanced diesel diagnostics training under the standards of leading diesel manufacturers. This program is an advanced training option within the Diesel Technology program that focuses on more in-depth diagnostics and technical skills. It is one of only three programs offered in the United States and backed by Volvo Trucks and Mack Trucks.
Who is eligible for the DATE program?
Eligibility typically requires completion of foundational diesel coursework or equivalent experience. Admissions can verify requirements.
Does the DATE program replace the Diesel Technology program?
No. The DATE program builds upon the core diesel training and is part of advanced learning.
Is the DATE program more technical than the standard diesel program?
Yes. It focuses on more advanced diagnostics and systems.
Does the DATE program guarantee higher wages?
No. Wages are determined by employers and market conditions. But often our partner employers pay up to 20% more out of the program compared to the standard Diesel Tech program.
Is the DATE Program offered anywhere else?
Volvo and Mack only offer this program to three institutions in the nation. J-Tech is one of the three institutions Volvo and Mack trust to train highly-skilled individuals for this advanced degree. With this program, students save approximately 30 hours of training for new technicians and decrease time to achieve master-level status by up to 50%.
